Donald and Mike and I went to the City Market today, and explored 2 out of the 4 floors of the River Market Antiques Mall. It's just like Those Were the Days but with less crap. Not that there's anything wrong with crap, I have fond memories of finding stuff in that big booth with all the craft type stuff and using it for projects. There seemed to be a lot of neat stuff there today. Mike got a cool wooden box that says "Gold Medal Explosives" on it. That sounds lame, but in real life it's sweet. I kinda wish I'd seen it first. In that same booth there was a comfy chair shaped like an "S" but between discovering it and showing it to Mike someone bought it. Oh well. I'll have to go back sometime and check out the other two floors. Donald was unimpressed. He just has no appreciation for weird junk. :)
I got a new Muppet glass, one that I didn't have before. I have Happiness Hotel, I had 2 of the one with Kermit on a bike but I recently broke one. When I told my mom about the broken one she told me that I have the Miss Piggy one in her cabinet. I'd forgotten all about that, so that was a nice surprise. Today I got the one with Fozzie Bear, pictured in the bottom right corner. So now I have all four, which is cool. And I only paid $3. Yay. Now I just have to keep the dishwasher from ruining them. It doesn't seem to be washing the picture off, like it has already done to several other glasses, I think it's just slowly fading the printing. Then again, if they get ruined, I can just go to some antiques mall and get another one. :)
After that we checked out the Asian supermarket, which smelled strange but was full of all kinds of potentially exciting foods. They had several kinds of packaged boba and the big fat straws for them. I'll have to see if I can make my own bubble tea! I love that stuff with its weird chewy blobs.
