coffee on site

They opened a Starbucks in the same building as our theater downtown about a week ago. It's right next to the box office. They're going to make fat cash, because house management is allowing food and drinks into the theater for this show. (Not to mention the several hundred H&R Block tax drones every day.) They're going to be open weekends and evenings, selling many overpriced sugary things to theater patrons. The whole concept of food and drink in a live play rubs me the wrong way. You aren't seeing a movie after all, and those actors one stage can see you too. So far, I think there has only been one coffee spill. It just seems wrong to me...

The Starbucks itself is pretty humorous. We're at 13th and Main. The other Starbucks downtown is at 14th and Main. Due to building layout, you'd actually have to walk 2 blocks to get to the other Starbucks, but still. A block away. There's also a nice local coffee shop 2 blocks away that I'd much rather go to, but it isn't open as late. And the damn Starbucks is actually in the damn lobby. I've been going up there when other people go for drinks because they are giving away Song of The Day iTunes cards. Each card has a code for a free download. When I take a free song card and don't buy a $3 drink, it's my tiny, ineffectual way of sticking it to the man. :)

Way to stick it to the man!
I've got a handful of those free download cards. Are they good for any song, or just the one on the front?

Huh, well, I think it's just for the song on the front. Would be pretty cool if it would work for any song though. :)
