Another one down

Opera tech is over. It went pretty well in the end. There were the usual screeching halts, where we encounter some stupid problem and come to a complete standstill for awhile. I say usual, which is sad but true for the opera. Opening is Saturday, and I'm pretty sure there won't be any surprises like last time. Yay!

Last night I went out for a drink with the opera stage management gals. We went to a bar with video touchscreens in the booths and played video Monopoly. Long game short, I took all their monies. :) I'm pretty sure that's the first Monopoly game I've finished in at least 10 years. Even with a computer doing all the math, it still took two hours. When I was a kid I played Monopoly with my cousins a few times, and I don't think we ever finished it. We always had to stop because my cousin Scott would start losing and then cry. He's the one that got married this summer. He doesn't cry when he loses games any more. :)

Monopoly is a fun game, but who the hell ever wants to play the whole thing. The only times I can remember playing the game ended when everyone quit. It's more a test of longevity than any kind of financial planning. If you kept reading this far, I'm impressed, because I just told everyone's story about monopoly.

When I was young I knew this guy, well, kid, named Clint. He had the best toys. He had the f*cking U.S.S. Flagg, for god's sake.

I remember one day we were playing in his "playroom" and he decided to start kicking into the air with his eyes closed. He wouldn't stop so I had to, well, I hit him. I was only trying to block, but he got hurt and he started to cry and, man, we were in like 7th grade. That's young, but not young enough to still be such a b*tch.

That's a much better story about Monopoly.
